Accuracy

Register.

PCA utilizes a five-step quality assurance program that incorporates checks and balances at each step of the process to ensure the accuracy of each resident's orders.

State-of-the-art bar coding/labeling technology combined with automated unit-dose punch card packaging for all tablets and capsules adds another layer of safeguards. Each order is received at PCA via digital fax and then entered into our order system. Pharmacists review each order multiple times to ensure accuracy. Prior to leaving PCA pharmacy, each order is scanned again to ensure that each of the facilities' daily deliveries is correct. PCA professionals continually evaluate technology and systems to further enhance performance standards.

Medical Records

Medical records.

Our experienced medical records staff works closely with each facility to process new admissions so medication and treatment documentation forms are available as quickly as possible.

Adhering to all HIPAA guidelines, all medication administration records (MARs), routine, standing and as-needed physician orders (POS) are provided and maintained, as well as comprehensive treatment records (TARs).

PCA offers both traditional medical records as well as the Accuflo electronic record system. These options improve medication safety and resident care while providing consistent documentation in the facility's system of choice.

Separate facility reports detailing monthly psychotropic flow records, antibiotics and other requested medication utilization reports are provided for facility quality assurance review and for survey documentation. Scheduled medication control records and behavior monitoring sheets are also provided.
